At GT Emblems we make custom badges of heirloom quality. We have been approached by two "semi-custom" badge companies to offer their products. After careful consideration, we decided not to sell these semi-custom badges. Even though, they have a great design selection they do not offer the quality that we demand.
Each of our badges are individually stamped from the purest brass or copper blanks. The enamel is hand applied and fired at up to 1700 degrees Fahrenheit. Once the enamel is quality control inspected, the badge is sent to the finishing process where the final finish is applied in a three stage process. After the finish has been applied, it is inspected again. If the badge passes inspection it is sent for final polishing. Only badges that successfully pass each level of inspection will be sent on to the customer. All others will be destroyed and recycled.
By comparison the semi-custom badges offered by other companies are "shell backed" and stamped from a tin or steel ribbon. After being stamped, the are single dipped in a finish tank and have a soft enamel painted on. They are polished and sent to the customer.
At GT Emblems, quality is more than skin deep. We start with quality base metals and have stringent quality control (QC) measures along the way to ensure you have the best product available. If you purchase a custom badge from GT Emblems, you are the final quality control inspector.
For all custom order badges allow 12 weeks for initial order to be complete once the artwork has been approved. After the initial order, reorders can complete in 14 days.
